Hank Sorrick is a multi-Telly Award winning video producer with nearly 30 years of editing and production experience. Armed with a BA in Communications from The Ohio State University, this Midwestern boy began his professional career with WLEX-TV in Lexington, KY, where he honed skills as a camera operator, editor, floor director, prompter operator and graphics technician.
Looking to expand his skills, and add a little sunshine to his life, Hank relocated to Fort Myers, FL, in 1993 where an opportunity at WBBH-TV provided him with extensive new abilities, including news videographer and live truck operator.
In 1997, with a broad array of experience under his belt, Hank headed south to The Naples Studio. Many of the businesses that enjoyed Hank¹s work followed him to the company, including Abbey Carpet, for whom he produced two national TV-commercial campaigns.
Here, Hank was instrumental in expanding the company’s menu of services including development of an award-winning medical series and educational videos. In addition, Hank¹s friendliness and hands-on care helped The Naples Studio sustain its long-term clients.
His extensive portfolio includes news shows for internationally renowned electronics assembly magazine Global SMT & Packaging, Edison State College/Florida SouthWestern State College, The Shelter for Abused Women & Children, Sky Angel, Riesbeck’s Food Markets and Naples International Film Festival.
Yearning to discover the creative side of production, Hank accepted an internship at National Media Services. With quick proficiency in graphics, he was elected to be the team Producer/Editor and took the lead on several national client projects, including Abbey Carpet, Hawks Cay Resort & Marina, Action Craft Boats, numerous automotive groups and others.
Hank’s independent spirit was finally fulfilled when he launched Pixel Lightening Productions in 2002. Focusing first on the non-profit arena where he produced moving fundraising campaign videos and PSAs, he quickly expanded to include corporate promotional and educational videos and commercials.
Hank has been the director of photography and post-production co-editor on several projects, including a 30-minute documentary and a couple of shorts. He provides high-end digital editing for independent producers, filmmakers and production companies.
The nice thing about Hank Sorrick is the personal touch he puts into his work.
He is a dedicated professional and does a great job staying focused on his projects until they are completed.
